The marina is surrounded by many lovely restaurants, shops and bars (the Portuguese footballer, Figo, also has a bar and restaurant here), as well as a small number of luxurious hotels, including the 5 star Marinotel. The road surrounding the marina is largely pedestrianised (apart from those requiring access to the yachts) and this makes it a very popular (and safe) place to go for a stroll in the evening.

The many shops here range from usual tourist shops to many upmarket boutiques (Gant, Lacoste, Hugo Boss, etc) catering for the many rich and famous visitors to Vilamoura.

On the marina you can also sign up for a number of different water-based activities, including boat tours (and charters), jet-ski rental, sea fishing, etc.
